A year before their breakthrough record, Through Being Cool, a little New Jersey pop-punk band called Saves the Day released Can’t Slow Down. Significantly faster, gruffer and less polished than their future material, Chris Conley and Co.’s nervy debut has the seeds of a band who can’t help but write hits, but were at a point in their lives when they’d rather just rage. Catchy in a screamy, sweaty way, Can’t Slow Down is still a barn-burner to this day.
