Mother Love Bone’s first and sadly only full-length LP marks one of the greatest “What If?” moments of Nineties rock. Sporting members of cult locals Green River and Malfunkshun, the band built hype by mixing mud-grimy early grunge with star-glittered glam-metal. Sadly, swagger-heavy singer Andrew Wood died of an overdose just as the album was about to be released, making Apple a bittersweet statement with a tragic backstory.  Guitarist Stone Gossard and bassist Jeff Ament would form Wood-tributary supergroup Temple of the Dog with members of Soundgarden before founding Pearl Jam.
